Good Culture Mission

The mission behind Good Culture is to provide a bridge that helps hard-working team members within the hospitality and tourism workforce to overcome financial hardship. This assistance to overcome a one time financial emergency allows a worker to remain in their positions and to retain long term opportunities for career growth.

We look at Good Culture as part compassion, part workforce initiative, and ALL HOSPITALITY!

Good Culture depends on volunteers to raise awareness by sharing our stories on social media; by participating in fundraising events, by individual donations and by community grants.

  • Tami Reist, President & CEO Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association

"Hospitality workers have the challenging task of keeping our guests well taken care of and happy, so when they are faced with an unanticipated hardship, it’s nice to know they have a resource to reach out to for assistance. Good Culture is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who play such a vital role in the tourism and travel industry. As a sponsor, AMLA is committed to supporting and sharing the good work done by Good Culture."

  • Ashlee Crosby, General Manager SpringHill Suites Huntsville Downtown

"Good Culture is like a safety net for hotel employees. It helps team members recover from an unexpected crisis that could affect their job performance. I have seen the positive results helping someone recover from a house fire. So much more than just a charitable fund, Good Culture promotes a strong healthy hospitality workforce focused on long term success.”

  • Leadership Team - Sonesta Simply Suites Huntsville

"Our work family is especially important to us. When one is down, we are all down. When one struggles, we all worry for them, and it impedes a productive day. Having a program like Good Culture has been instrumental in allowing team members to continue to work through hardships with hope. The application was easy, the turnaround time was quick, and it kept a mother and her two children from being homeless. We are forever grateful to the work that Good Culture does in our community. We hope that more hospitality organizations can learn about it and refer their work family members when they need a little help. People do not realize that for our employees…one broken down car can be the difference between having a life and a home or…losing everything. Good Culture is such a blessing because by helping a single employee, it helps our team and our business so that we can be our best and take care of our guests. We want to thank Good Culture for all that they have done and will continue to do for our most vulnerable hospitality employees and their families.”

  • Mary Lynn Bishop, Director of Sales DoubleTree Hotel Decatur Riverfront

DoubleTree Hotel Decatur Riverfront learned about Good Culture from our tourism partners during a Flawless Delivery class. After learning about the assistance organization, one of our own team members experienced a total loss of her home due to a house fire. Our leadership team immediately reached out to Good Culture to guide us thru the application process. We are so grateful to them for assisting our beloved team member during her time of great need.
